How to Get Involved

The CSG Free Northern Rivers campaign operates through the efforts of volunteers. There are lots of ways you can get involved and contribute to the campaign across the region.

-You can join our mailing list where you will be kept up to date with the campaign via our monthly newsletters and find out about actions and events that you can take part in. You can also check out the actions and events pages of our website to find out the latest happenings!

We’re often looking for help with letterboxing, DVD duplication, film screenings, mobile food stalls, merchandise supply, assisting with research or messaging… the list goes on. There’s plenty of ways you might be able to help – no matter where your talents lie. When you join our mailing list please let us know what skills you have and what sort of activities you might like to be involved in.

-There are lots of action groups around the Northern Rivers who welcome new members. Why not get in touch with the group in your local area and find out when their next meeting will be held.

-One of the important components of the CSG Free campaign is Non-violent Direct Action (NVDA). This includes: Public Meetings; Rallies; Marches; Sit-ins/Occupations; Blockades

Find out more about non-violent direct action here and keep your eye out on our public events calendar for upcoming actions, events and NVDA trainings across the region.

-As well as relying on the time of volunteers our campaign also relies on donations from the community to pay for all the materials and other costs of organising actions and events. Any donation large or small is gratefully accepted and will be put to good use in our efforts to keep the Northern Rivers CSG Free! You can donate online here.

-Take part in the gas field free intitiative. All over the Northern Rivers and beyond, communities are taking charge of their destiny via this grass-roots process. Find out how to go gasfield free here.

-To be part of the national campaign to protect our land, water, biodiversity and human health from innapropriate mining you can get become part the Lock the Gate Alliance by joining or making a regular donation to the national organisation. You can also check out the great information about campaigns around the country at the Lock the Gate Alliance website.
